ARTIST BIO:

Monsters for Animals is the pseudonym Rafael Doctor uses to sign the drawings he makes over photographs in order to raise funds for various animal protection organizations. Since 2017, he has exchanged more than 5,000 drawings for small donations. The project is entirely altruistic and conceived as a form of creative activism that encourages people to start supporting shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue groups. Many artists have collaborated by donating images of their works or participating directly in the drawings, including Pierre Gonnord, Cristina de Middel, María Cañas, and now Alberto García-Alix. The publishing house Cabeza de Chorlito has also joined the initiative by producing a book that reproduces all the works available for donation-based exchange.
