The Good, the Lost, and the Beautiful /
KRISTOFFER ØRUM

R.M.F-23.031.06 KO
Material: PolyTerra PLA + 6 postcards, Limited Ed of 15
Context: This set is based on Kristoffer Ørum's installation for the exhibition De Tabte Runesten at Rundetaarn. The edition contains two components: a 3D-printed replica and a set of postcards.
1. 3D-Printed Replica of the Reconstructed Lee Runestone
The set includes a 15cm tall, 3D-printed model of the reconstructed Lee runestone. The original stone is one of nine believed to have been lost in the Copenhagen Fire of 1728. This reconstruction is based on 17th-century drawings by antiquarian Jón Skonvig. A central relief on the stone, possibly a hammer on the original, has been reinterpreted here as a spray can, folding historical reference into anachronism. The model is printed in PolyTerra PLA.
2. Postcard Set (6 different images)
The set also contains six postcards with AI-generated images that reimagine Viking life. The scenes depict anachronistic activities such as figures performing stylized rituals, inscribing runes like graffiti, or participating in dance battles and DJ sets. The images were generated with a Chinese variant of the Huyuan algorithm and include intentional misreadings of the runic inscriptions, echoing themes of translation and loss.
